Split PDF
Break a PDF into parts by page ranges, single pages or fixed chunks, or pull out just the pages you need.
Your files never leave your device. Processing happens in your browser.
How to use the Split PDF
- Choose your PDF.
- Pick how to split: ranges, extract, every page or every N pages.
- For ranges, type pages like 1-3, 5, 8- (8 to the end).
- Click Split PDF; several files download together as a ZIP.
Four ways to split
- By page ranges: each range becomes its own PDF. “1-2, 3-5, 6-” gives three files.
- Extract selected pages: the pages you list are combined into a single new PDF, in the order you type them.
- Every page: each page becomes a separate PDF, useful for scanned bundles.
- Every N pages: fixed-size chunks, handy when a portal limits pages per upload.
Writing page ranges
Use commas between items and a hyphen for ranges. “5” is a single page, “2-4” is pages 2 to 4, “8-” means page 8 to the end, and “-3” means pages 1 to 3. Invalid ranges are explained clearly, for example if a page number is beyond the document length.
Common uses
- Pull the one certificate page you need out of a large scanned file.
- Separate a combined bank statement into months.
- Upload a long document to a portal that caps pages per file.
- Share only relevant pages of a contract or report.
Quality stays the same
Splitting copies pages exactly: no re-compression, text stays selectable, and links and fonts are kept. If a part is still too large for a portal, compress it with compress PDF. To rearrange or delete pages visually instead, try organize PDF; to join files, use merge PDF.
Private
Everything runs in your browser. Your PDF is never uploaded and the ZIP is created on your device.
Examples
- Split a 60-page scanned bundle into one PDF per certificate: use “By page ranges” with ranges like 1-2, 3-4, 5-8.
- Upload a 12-page document to a portal that allows 5 pages per file: use “Every N pages” with 5.
- Send only the signature page of a contract: “Extract selected pages” with the last page number.
Split parts keep the original page size and orientation, so printed copies look exactly like the source document.
