How to use the QR Generator

  1. Paste a website link or type any text.
  2. Pick colours, size and optionally a centre logo.
  3. Scan the preview with your phone to test.
  4. Download as PNG for screens or SVG for print.

What can a QR code hold?

A QR code can store a website address, plain text, an e-mail address, a phone number or other data. Most commonly it holds a link: menus, Google review pages, YouTube channels, Google Forms, product pages, event registrations or a Google Maps location.

Static QR codes that never expire

The codes made here are static: the link is stored directly in the QR code. They work forever, need no account, and don’t track scans. Some online generators create “dynamic” codes that redirect through their servers, which can stop working if the subscription ends. If you need to change the destination later, point the QR to a page you control and update that page instead.

Design tips

  • Contrast is key: dark foreground on a light background. Inverted or pale colours may not scan.
  • Logos: a small centre logo is fine; the code switches to high error correction automatically. Always test after adding a logo.
  • Size: at least 2 cm for close scanning; larger for posters viewed from a distance (roughly 1 cm per 10 cm of scanning distance).
  • Short links make simpler, easier-to-scan codes.
  • Leave the white margin (quiet zone) around the code.

PNG or SVG?

PNG is ideal for WhatsApp, websites and documents. SVG is a vector format that stays perfectly sharp at any size, the best choice for printing, banners and design software.

Specialised codes

For payments use the UPI QR generator; for Wi-Fi, the Wi-Fi QR; for contacts, the vCard QR. Test any code with the QR scanner. Codes are created in your browser.

Quick answer

Can I make a QR code for a Google Form or Google Maps location? Yes, copy the share link and paste it here.

Also avoid printing QR codes on curved or glossy surfaces where reflections can stop phones from reading them.

Frequently asked questions

Do these QR codes expire?
No. They're static and work forever.
Can I add my logo to a QR code?
Yes. Upload it and the code uses high error correction so it still scans. Test before printing.
Can I track scans?
Static codes don't track scans. Use a link with tracking parameters if you need analytics.
What size should I print it?
At least 2 cm wide for close scanning; bigger for posters.
Is it free for commercial use?
Yes. There are no watermarks or usage limits.
