How to use the PDF to 100 KB
- Choose your PDF; the 100 KB target is already set.
- Tick 'Black & white' if it's a scanned document.
- Click Compress PDF and wait for the progress bar.
- Download the PDF and check the text is readable.
Where 100 KB PDF limits appear
A 100 KB cap is common for single-page documents on exam, scholarship and state government portals: caste, income and domicile certificates, ID proofs, mark sheets and disability certificates. It is a tight budget. A phone-scanned page can easily be 1–3 MB, so it needs to shrink 10–30 times.
Best results for 100 KB
- One page is ideal. A single A4 page fits comfortably. Two pages are usually fine in black and white; more pages become hard to read at 100 KB.
- Use black & white. For certificates and printed documents, grayscale keeps text crisp while using far fewer bytes.
- Remove blank pages and back sides with organize PDF before compressing.
- Check the result by zooming in on small print, stamps and signatures before uploading.
If it won’t fit
A long multi-page document may not fit into 100 KB while staying readable, and the tool will say so rather than give you an unreadable file. Options: split the document if the portal allows several uploads (split PDF), upload only the required pages, or check whether the portal accepts a JPG, in which case the 100 KB image resizer may give sharper text for a single page.
About selectable text
To reach 100 KB, pages are stored as optimised images, so text can’t be searched or copied in the result. Keep the original PDF for your records.
Private
Your document is processed inside your browser and never uploaded. For other limits see 200 KB or the custom-size compressor.
Quick answers
