How to use the CTET Photo Resize

  1. The CTET preset is already selected. Choose Photo, Signature or another document.
  2. Check the required dimensions, KB range and last-verified date in the yellow box.
  3. Upload your image, then drag and zoom so it fits the frame.
  4. Click Create and download the JPG ready for the CTET form.

CTET photo and signature requirements

The Central Teacher Eligibility Test, conducted by CBSE, is required for teaching posts in central government schools such as KVS and NVS, and many state and private schools accept it too. The CTET information bulletin asks for a JPG photograph of 3.5 × 4.5 cm between 10 KB and 100 KB, and a JPG signature of 3.5 × 1.5 cm between 3 KB and 30 KB. Both uploads are mandatory, and an application with an unclear or wrong-sized photo can be rejected.

The dimensions, file size range, format and DPI shown in the tool come from our admin-maintained preset for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test conducted by CBSE, together with the date they were last checked and a link to the official website. Requirements can change with every notification, so compare them with the notification for your exam cycle before uploading. If a value differs, pick the custom option in the exam resizer or tell us through the contact page so we can update the preset.

How the resizer meets every rule

  • Exact pixels: the image is cropped to the required shape and resized to the exact width and height, never stretched.
  • KB range: the tool finds the highest JPEG quality under the maximum; if the result is below the minimum, it adds harmless padding bytes so the portal accepts it.
  • Portal-safe sizes: the maximum is treated as 1,000-byte kilobytes and the minimum as 1,024-byte kilobytes, so the file passes whichever definition the site uses.
  • DPI: written into the file when the preset specifies it.

Photo tips that prevent rejection

  • Recent colour photo, face centred, both ears visible where possible, neutral expression.
  • Plain light background, even light, no shadows, no caps or dark glasses.
  • Don’t upload a photo of a printed photo or a selfie with a tilted head.

CTET-specific advice

CBSE prints your uploaded photo on the admit card and matches it at the exam centre, so use a recent colour photo with a plain light background. The signature should be in running handwriting with a dark pen, not in capital letters. If your photo has a busy background, clean it first with the photo background remover and then resize it here.

Your documents stay private

All processing happens in your browser. Your photo and signature are never uploaded to our servers. After downloading, confirm the file with the photo checker if you want a second look before submitting.
