Resize Image to 100 KB
Compress large phone camera photos and document scans to under 100 KB without losing readability.
Your files never leave your device. Processing happens in your browser.
How to use the Image to 100 KB
- Pick the photo or scanned document image.
- 100 KB is set automatically and compression begins.
- Zoom into the after preview to check text or faces.
- Download the JPG, ready to upload or attach.
Where 100 KB limits show up
A 100 KB cap is typical for document uploads: address proof, ID cards, income certificates, mark sheets and experience letters. Some banks, insurance portals and college systems use it for photos too. Modern phones capture 3–8 MB per shot, so a document photo usually needs to be 30 to 80 times smaller.
Keeping documents readable
Text is less forgiving than faces. Blocky compression shows up around letters first. For clear results:
- Flatten the paper and photograph it straight on, filling the frame.
- Crop the edges so no table, floor or fingers remain, using the image cropper.
- Use daylight; yellow indoor light makes paper grey and wastes bytes.
- For a two-sided ID, combine both sides into one image or a PDF with Image to PDF.
Photo or PDF?
If a portal accepts either, a single-page document is usually fine as a JPG under 100 KB. For several pages, a PDF is neater; our compress PDF to 100 KB tool fits multi-page scans into the same limit.
How the size is measured
The result stays under 100,000 bytes. That satisfies portals using either 1,000 or 1,024 bytes per kilobyte, so your upload won't be rejected for being a few bytes over.
Fast and private
Compression runs on your device in a background worker, so even large photos process quickly without freezing the page. Nothing is uploaded, which keeps your documents private. For other limits use the custom KB resizer.
Frequently needed at 100 KB
Typical 100 KB uploads include the front of an Aadhaar or PAN card, a passport first page, an electricity bill as address proof, a Class 10 mark sheet and a caste certificate. For two-sided cards, most portals want both sides in one file: photograph both, then either place them one above the other with the photo and signature combiner, or put them in a PDF and compress it to 100 KB. Always check that numbers and names are sharp before you submit.
