Compress PDF to 500 KB
Compress multi-page PDFs such as bank statements, ITR documents and reports to under 500 KB.
Your files never leave your device. Processing happens in your browser.
How to use the PDF to 500 KB
- Choose your PDF; the 500 KB target is set.
- Tick 'Black & white' if colour isn't important.
- Click Compress PDF and follow the progress.
- Download the compressed PDF.
For longer documents
Loan applications, visa files, tax filings and insurance claims often need multi-page PDFs such as six months of bank statements, ITR acknowledgements, salary slips or property papers, with a 500 KB or 1 MB limit per file. At 500 KB, a 10–20 page document usually stays readable, especially in black and white.
Tips for statements and reports
- Unlock first: bank statements are usually password-protected. Remove the password with unlock PDF (you need to know the password), then compress.
- Keep only what’s needed: remove cover pages, terms and blank pages with organize PDF.
- Black & white: statements and ITR forms are mostly text, so grayscale saves a lot.
- Combine carefully: if several statements must go in one file, merge them with merge PDF, then compress the result.
Digitally generated PDFs
Statements downloaded from net banking are often already small, because their text is stored as text, not images. If the file is under 500 KB, the tool will tell you and you can upload the original, which keeps text searchable. Compression is most useful for scanned documents and PDFs with photos.
Readability first
The tool tries high resolutions first and lowers them only as needed. If a document is too large to stay readable at 500 KB, it stops and says so rather than giving you an unreadable file. Try splitting it with split PDF in that case.
Private
Financial documents never leave your device: the PDF is opened and rebuilt in your browser.
Example
A six-month bank statement scanned in colour at 3 MB typically compresses to 300–450 KB in black and white while keeping every transaction readable. A 20-page project report with photos may need the 1 MB target or splitting into two files. If the portal allows several uploads, upload statements month-wise; it is easier for reviewers too.
