How to use the Case Converter

  1. Paste or type your text.
  2. Click the case you want, such as Title Case.
  3. Copy the converted text.

Fix capitalisation instantly

Text often arrives in the wrong case: a heading typed with Caps Lock on, a list of names all in lowercase, or copied text in ALL CAPS that looks like shouting. Retyping is slow. This converter fixes it in one click.

Case styles explained

  • UPPERCASE: ALL LETTERS CAPITAL. Used for headings, acronyms and some form fields, such as names on Indian government forms.
  • lowercase: all letters small. Useful for e-mail addresses and URLs.
  • Title Case: Main Words Capitalised, while small words like “of”, “the” and “and” stay lowercase unless first. For book, article and video titles.
  • Sentence case: Only the first letter of each sentence capitalised. The most readable style for normal text.
  • Capitalize Each Word: Every Word Starts With A Capital. For names and addresses.
  • tOGGLE cASE: swaps upper and lower case, handy when text was typed with Caps Lock on by mistake.

Watch out for

Automatic conversions can’t know that “iPhone”, “GST”, “UPSC” or a person’s name need special capitalisation. After converting, quickly scan for acronyms and proper nouns. Hindi and other scripts without capital letters are left unchanged.

Quick answer

Why do some forms want names in capitals? Block capitals are easier to read on printed forms and reduce mistakes when data is typed into records. Use UPPERCASE for those fields.
