Resize Image to 10 KB
Get a signature or small photo under 10 KB, the tightest limit on many application forms.
Your files never leave your device. Processing happens in your browser.
How to use the Image to 10 KB
- Select your signature or photo.
- The 10 KB target is already set; the tool starts straight away.
- Check the preview: text and strokes should still be clear.
- Download the JPG and upload it to your form.
When do forms ask for 10 KB?
A 10 KB limit is most common for signatures, thumb impressions and very small passport-style photos on older government and recruitment portals. It is a tight budget: a typical phone photo is 300 to 500 times larger. The good news is that signatures are simple dark strokes on a light background, which compress extremely well when prepared properly.
How to keep a 10 KB signature crisp
- Sign large with a dark blue or black pen on plain white paper.
- Photograph it flat in daylight, without shadows from your phone.
- Crop closely around the signature. Empty paper still costs bytes. Our signature resizer can crop to the ink and whiten the paper automatically.
- Then compress here to 10 KB.
What if my photo still looks rough?
At 10 KB, a full-colour portrait has very little room for detail. If the form lets you, use the dimensions it asks for (often around 100 × 120 pixels for photos): fewer pixels mean each one can be stored with more quality. The tool automatically reduces dimensions if needed, but choosing them yourself with the pixel resizer keeps you in control.
Why the file is just under 10 KB
We keep the file below 10,000 bytes. Some portals define a kilobyte as 1,024 bytes, others as 1,000; staying under the smaller number means your upload is accepted either way. The exact byte count appears under the result so you can double-check against the form’s rule.
Private by design
Signatures are sensitive. This page processes your image entirely inside your browser; nothing is sent to our servers. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it will still work. If you need a different limit, the KB resizer accepts any target size.
Quick checklist
Before uploading, confirm three things: the file ends in .jpg, the size shown is under 10 KB, and the signature or face is still clearly recognisable when you zoom in. If any stroke has broken up, re-sign with a thicker pen and repeat.
