How to use the Edit PDF

  1. Choose the PDF you want to edit.
  2. Pick a tool: Text, White-out, Highlight, Draw or Image, and click or drag on the page.
  3. Use Select to move or delete anything you added; use Undo for mistakes.
  4. Move between pages as needed, then download the edited PDF.

What you can do

  • Add text anywhere: fill in a form that has no fields, add a date, write a note or correct a detail. Choose the size and colour, and move it into place.
  • White-out: drag a white box over text, a number or a line you want to hide, then type new text on top to replace it.
  • Highlight: mark important lines with a see-through yellow box.
  • Draw: underline, circle, tick boxes or sketch with a pen in black, blue, red or green.
  • Image: place a photo, logo, stamp or a scanned signature (PNG or JPG).

Any language

English and other Latin-script text is written as real, selectable PDF text. Text in Hindi, Tamil, Arabic, Chinese and other scripts is rendered by your browser, which shapes the letters correctly, and placed on the page as a sharp image, so it always looks right in every PDF viewer.

Private and free

The PDF opens and is edited entirely inside your browser. Nothing is uploaded, there is no sign-up, and no watermark is added. Your edits are kept in memory until you download, so close the tab when you are done on a shared computer.

Common uses

People use it to fill in application forms that were shared as plain PDFs, add the date and place next to a signature, correct a typo in a letter before sending it, mark answers on a scanned sheet, stamp documents with a company seal, and annotate contracts or notes for someone else to review.

Good to know

White-out hides content visually, but the original text still exists inside the file and could be copied by someone determined. To permanently remove sensitive information, convert the edited pages with PDF to image and back with image to PDF. Password-protected files must be opened with Unlock PDF first. To sign rather than write, use Sign PDF, and to shrink the result for an upload portal, use Compress PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Can I edit the existing text in a PDF?
You can cover it with white-out and type new text on top. Changing the original text in place is not supported.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The file is edited in your browser and never leaves your device.
Can I type in Hindi or other languages?
Yes. Non-Latin text is drawn by your browser and added as a sharp image, so it displays correctly everywhere.
Does white-out permanently remove text?
It hides it visually. For permanent removal, convert the pages to images and back to PDF.
Is there a watermark?
No. The edited PDF has no watermark and no page limit.
